🏡 Sometimes the Problem Isn’t the House

Oct 29, 2025 | Uncategorized

When it comes to buying a home, most people focus on price, location, and layout — but according to a new survey by Anytime Estimate, there’s something just as important: the neighbors.

In fact, 82% of Americans say that having good neighbors matters just as much as what’s inside the home. That means the people living within shouting distance can influence a buyer’s decision just as much as mortgage rates or kitchen upgrades.

Before buyers fall in love with the granite countertops or the backyard, they’re already taking in the neighborhood vibe— the sounds, the sights, and the energy of the street.

Here’s what the survey found:
19% of buyers would pay $10,000+ above asking if it guaranteed peaceful neighbors.
12% would even stretch up to $20,000 more.
✨ And nearly 1 in 5 would pay extra just to never have to interact with neighbors at all.

It’s clear: noise, conflict, and chaos next door can seriously impact a property’s value.

And when it comes to dealbreakers, the results say it all:
🚫 89% are turned off by yelling or fighting neighbors.
🚫 88% say it would be a total dealbreaker.
🐕 84% can’t stand constant barking dogs.
👀 82% say “inappropriately dressed” neighbors are a no-go.

At the end of the day, a home is more than four walls — it’s the community that surrounds it.

Peace and quiet? Absolutely priceless. 💸
