Huge North Texas neighborhood wins award

Celina’s new Legacy Hills neighborhood recognized for amenities, mix of homes

Legacy Hills could have 7,000 single-family homes, 4,100 apartments, an 18-hole golf course, a 27-acre city sports park and a three-mile walking and biking trail.

Legacy Hills is a master-planned community under development by Centurion American, led by CEO Mehrdad Moayedi. Plans call for 7,000 single-family homes, 4,100 apartments, an 18-hole golf course, a 27-acre city sports park and a three-mile walking and biking trail.

All of the that will rise on 3,200 acres in this fast-growing city that spans Collin and Denton counties. The extension of the Dallas North Tollway will run right past the neighborhood, providing even quicker access to Dallas and other parts of DFW. There will also be two new elementary schools and two fire stations.

Major homebuilders including Ashton Woods, Beazer Homes and DR Horton have been recruited to build the single-family homes on 40-, 50- and 60-foot lots. The neighborhood will offer a variety of home styles and sizes.

Centurion has a track record of developing large master-planned communities across North Texas, including Frisco Hills in Little Elm, Mercer Crossing in Farmers Branch and Prairie Commons in Plano.

However, this new community promises to be “a city within a city,” said Rex Glendenning of REX Real Estate, which represented Centurion in the land deal for Legacy Hills.
