NFL Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw sells his 800-acre Red River horse ranch

The spread located north of Dallas-Fort Worth has been acquired for an equine breeding and sales operation.

Legendary football star Terry Bradshaw has sold his ranch north of Denton.

Located just across the Texas border near Thackerville, Okla., the almost 800-acre ranch near the Red River has been up for grabs for more than five years. A previous deal to sell the property fell through.

The spread, located about an hour from Dallas-Fort Worth, was last listed for sale for $22.5 million by Dallas’ Icon Global Group. Located in Love County, Okla., Bradshaw’s ranch is near WinStar Casino.

The Bradshaws used the land for their home and to raise quarter horses.

The property just sold to Red River Equine — a horse breeding, training and sales operation that’s a joint venture between Billy and Suzonne Franks of Texas and Chad and Tiffany Beus, who recently relocated from Utah. The Franks have operated the Three Nails Ranch in Cisco, west of Fort Worth.

“We chose this location and facility because of its very central geographical location to all points within the region, especially central to Texas and Oklahoma,” Beus said in a statement. “This is important to our clientele and to the expansion requirements of our business.

“The large size of the ranch with its already established infrastructure and first-class facilities of the long-standing Bradshaw operation was a perfect platform from which to not only launch our operations but importantly to build upon, improve and diversify.”

While they owned the property, the Bradshaws had an equine breeding facility, cattle and a recreational ranch. Bradshaw had already moved his quarter horse breeding operation to a smaller Texas ranch near Saint Jo.

The just-sold ranch in Oklahoma includes a large estate home, several stocked fishing lakes and ponds, and horse care and livestock infrastructure. The 8,600-square-foot main house has six bedrooms and a large swimming pool.

The ranch was used as a location for the filming of The Bradshaw Bunch, a cable television show that ran for two seasons starting in 2020.

“The decision-making process to finally selling has been a long and winding road,” Bradshaw said in a statement. “Along the way, we have been presented with and considered many great offers, opportunities and proposals.

“However, between my own schedule, the TV series, my family’s changing needs, our horse and cattle business, as well as many other commitments, neither timing nor opportunity were ever on our side or aligned,” he said. “Plus, I loved this ranch so much, having built it from the ground up, so I was very tied to it.”

The Oklahoma property is one of several big ranchlands recently marketed for sale by real estate broker Icon Global Group.

“This important sale was the culmination and alignment of the efforts of many people, teams, and factors over time,” Icon Global’s Bernard Uechtritz said. “We were able to announce the marketing in April and then complete our call for offers and closed sale process in just a few months.”

Uechtritz and Icon Global are still marketing one of Texas’ largest ranches for sale. The Turkey Track Ranch in the Texas Panhandle totals almost 80,000 acres.

Several years ago, Uechtritz led a team that sold one of the largest ranches in the U.S.: the W.T. Waggoner Ranch in North Texas. It sold in 2016 to billionaire Stan Kroenke, the husband of Wal-Mart heiress Ann Walton Kroenke and owner of the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams, the NBA’s Denver Nuggets, the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche and the Premier League’s Arsenal F.C.
